Tall Building Application submitted in Salford by EKPS

Acting on behalf of Domis, EPKS have recently submitted a planning application to Salford City Council for a 26-storey residential building.

The application site is in a highly sustainable location within the Central Salford area of the City, on land bound by Trinity Way, William Street and the Local Blackfriars development. It is identified by the Chapel Wharf Development Framework as an ‘Opportunity Site’, which is capable of accommodating high density development.

The scheme would provide 250 new residential units, along with approximately 90 sqm of commercial space. It would also create a significant area of new public realm, creating both a place for the residents of the scheme to spill out into and for the surrounding community to enjoy.

EKPS was responsible for leading the pre-application process with the Council, project managing the technical team and coordinating the overall planning submission. EKPS also advised on EIA matters and were successful in ‘screening out’ the requirement to submit an Environmental Statement.

The proposals were designed by Studio Power, with LDA Design advising on landscaping.
