Full Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent Secured for Reedham House

EKPS are pleased to have secured full planning permission and listed building consent on behalf of Property Alliance Group on King Street West in Manchester City Centre.

The scheme, designed by Jon Matthews Architects, comprises a 14-storey new-build office fronting onto Motor Square as well as the heritage-led restoration and refurbishment of the Grade II listed carriage works and adjoining warehouse on Garden Lane and Smithy Lane into a modern workspace.

The approved scheme will sensitively renovate the most historically important parts of the site whilst providing a new landmark building.  It will also deliver a series of public realm improvements, activating Motor Square and St Mary’s Parsonage as well as opening up Garden Lane and Smithy Lane to support the ongoing regeneration of the part of the City Centre the site is located, as envisaged by the St Marys Parsonage SRF.

The applications were unanimously ‘minded to approve’ at MCC’s Planning and Highways Committee on 27 July 2023 and subsequently approved on 8 September 2023 following referral to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

EKPS were responsible for co-ordinating the applications and liaising closely with Manchester City Council and other statutory consultees throughout the process.
